Crystal City XC Teams Continue to Excel

The Crystal City High School Varsity Boys had an impressive outing at the Dilley Cross Country Invitational Saturday, September 28, 2019.  Frank Arenas (Medalist) continues to improve and was edged out at the finish line to place 5th.  Also showing great improvement was the rest of the team, Matthew Puente (Medalist), Nathan Aguilar (Medalist), Claude Faulkuberry (Medalist), and Jesse Jay Ruiz (Medalist).  Contributing to the team’s 2nd place finish were Jonas Tapia and Zachary Faz. The team continues striving for their goal to reach the Texas State Championships.  The Varsity Girls steadily show improvement on a weekly basis.  The team was lead by Nayeli Garcia (Medalist) placing 9th.  Running an exceptional race was Relyla Rios (Medalist) and Nayeli Moncada (Medalist).   Reyna Martinez, Gabriella Roiz, Meghan Huerta and Kiara Roiz contributed to the Lady Javalinas tough outing.  The girls continue to strive for their goal to reach the Texas State Championships.  The JV Girls and JV Boys placed 2nd as a team. Contributing to the team scoring were Alize Ruvalcaba(Medalist), Madison Acosta(Medalist), Chelsea Delgado(Medalist), Elyanna Ramirez, Sophia Guerrero, and Adysela Garcia.  Norberto Garcia(Medalist) lead the team by placing 3rd, also helping out the team were John Acosta(Medalist), Angel Rivera(Medalist), Xavier Fuentes(Medalist),and Juan Lopez. 

The Fly Junior High XC Teams had exceptional outing.  The 8th Grade Boys Team placed 1st at the Dilley Meet.  Leading the Mustangs was Adrian Saucedo-3rd (Medalist), Juan Garcia (Medalist), Jeremiah Moncada(Medalist), Derrick Degrate(Medalist),Nathan Vega(Medalist),and Lathon Puente.  Running for the 8th Grade Girls were Alyssa Ruvalcaba and April Pena.  The 7th Grade Girls and 7th Grade Boys placed 2nd as a team. Contributing to the team scoring were Ileana Ruvalcaba(Medalist), Sanaia Degrate (Medalist),  Caasi Trevino(Medalist),Evelyn Jett(Medalist), Alyssandra Armendariz (Medalist),Kayleen Ruiz, Karina Granados, Reana Hernandez, Breana Hernandez, Alyssa Ramirez,Ieshia Ruvalcaba, Alyana Saucedo. Ricky Rios (Medalist) lead the team by placing 2nd, also helping out the team were Jesus Arenas (Medalist), Juan Luis Noriega, Vicente Cardenas, Nick Vargas, Abraham Martinez, Scott Rodriguez, Dante Delgado and Ismael Trevino.
