Mustang XC Compete at District

For our final meet of the season our Mighty Mustangs competed in the District 30-4A Cross Country Championships and all our runners competed amazingly and many came home with medals.

Racing first were our Lady Mustangs. For the 8th grade Division leading the way was Madeleine Huerta who finished in 8th place followed by Ileena Ruvalcaba who finished in 11th place. Also competing for the 8th grade girls were Elissa Ramirez & Ieisha Ruvalcaba. In the 7th grade division our Lady Mustangs were led by Isabella Roiz who finished in 10th place, followed by Jennipher Ramirez in 11th place.

In the second race of the evening was our Mighty Mustangs and they all ran an amazing race, with every Mighty Mustang Medaling in the Top 15 of their division. For the 8th grade division our Mighty Mustang was led by Ricardo Rios Jr. who finished as the District 30-4A District Runner Up, followed by Abraham Martinez in 6th place, and Jesus Arenas in 15th place. Our 7th grade Mighty Mustangs were led by Alfredo Gallegos who finished as the District 30–4A Individual District Champion, followed by Michael Trevino in 6th place & Logan Hernandez in 7th place.

Mustang Cross Country would like to thank the Athletic Director David Lopéz, Athletic Trainer Revae Rivera, Javelina Athletic Staff, Fly Jr. High Administration Robert Alvarado & Dante Delgado, The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, The City of Crystal City, Tavo’s Automotive (Gustavo Jimenez), Mr. & Mrs. Scott Rodriguez & Family, The CCISD Maintenance Staff, Mr. Jesse Perez, and the Zavala County Sentinel for all the support they continue to provide to our program. Our biggest thank you goes to our amazing group of parents who were always there supporting us all season long! Our season wouldn’t have been as great as it was without you.
