Dear Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the CCISD Board of Trustees, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we are devastated by the unnecessary and unfathomable tragedy that occurred in Uvalde yesterday. The CCISD has and will continue to offer staff and students counseling support to help mitigate this tragic event.
CCISD will continue to work with local law enforcement to keep our campuses secure. If you, as a parent, do not feel comfortable sending your students to school in the wake of this tragedy, we understand. The CCISD will be requesting a low attendance waiver(s) for the unforeseen disruption in daily attendance due to safety-related issues.
We will communicate any changes to our school organization, as appropriate.
Staff will report to work and will gladly welcome your students for end of year activities.
As always, we thank you for helping us keep the CCISD community safe throughout this difficult time and ask that you extend your sincerest thoughts and prayers to the UCISD school community. While we know this time has been a challenge, we are grateful to be a community of great faith.
